VP, Business Development


As Manifest Life’s (Manifest’s health vertical) VP/Director, Business Development, you will have the opportunity to prospect, qualify and close new business, with the goal of achieving Digital AOR status for the agency at target biotech/pharma companies, healthcare systems/hospitals, medical associations and health insurers.  You’ll partner with SVP, BD – Manifest Life and Executive Leadership to set short- and long-term business development strategies for the Manifest Life vertical and elevate awareness in the marketplace of Manifest as a digital partner.  You’ll also actively mine a new business pipeline, generate leads and develop the capabilities narrative to raise the profile of Manifest. This can be based in our Chicago or New York City office, or remotely on the West Coast, and it reports directly to the SVP, Business Development of Manifest Life. 


Proactively lead the identification of, research and overall management of the potential client prospect list
Contribute to the development of Manifest’s marketing materials, including credentials/capabilities, case studies and collateral material
Prospect and contact appropriate business executives to obtain appointments, analyze business needs, and manage the sales process
Move client prospects through the sales cycle, from consideration to project engagements to ongoing retainer relationships
Achieve quarterly and annual sales revenue goals
Manage entire pitch process; Oversee internal process for responding to RFPs and preparing for pitches
Partner with leadership to allocate appropriate resources for RFP responses and pitches
Ensure proper transition of new business into the Company


8+ years in the Manifest Life space, with business development and/or account management experience, agency-side and/or client-side
Proven success, experience and relationships in the mid-west and western regions (national experience and contacts are also relevant)
Fluency in digital agency services
Professional client-facing skills; full comprehension of client businesses
Quantifiable track record of lead generation, pitches and wins
Excellent written, interpersonal, verbal and listening skills
Expert ability to identify and respond to opportunities to sell in agency services
Passion for social media and knowledge of how to leverage it to achieve marketing goals.
Extensive understanding of content and how it performs in multiple digital channels.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
