Group Creative Director

As GCD, you're responsible for leading creative strategy, vision and delivery for a portfolio of Manifest and Manifest Life accounts based in St. Louis, and managing the content and design teams assigned to those accounts. You're also a driving force in business development, helping to provide new and exciting opportunities for the Content team. 

Group Creative Director is a dynamic and assertive leader, someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves pushing boundaries and can see and guide the team toward a future ripe with possibilities. Our GCD is a writer with the vision to see beyond a specific project and identify bigger, longer-term opportunities for clients and sell them. Our GCD will also have a customer-service mindset and enjoy the client-focused aspect of our work (even in sticky situations). With charisma to spare and the power to persuade, our GCD will use both qualities to sell through ideas that are right for client — and Manifest.

Responsibilities:

Articulate and promote a creative vision that aligns with Manifest’s position as a different kind of agency
Serve as a leader of both the Creative-Content team and St. Louis office
Develop creative strategies from concept to execution in order to drive the strategic direction and innovative solutions for clients
Lead, develop, mentor and inspire the design, editorial/copy and engagement teams to more advanced and compelling work
Build and maintain stellar working relationships not only with clients, but also with peers in the agency leadership, the creative team and the agency at large
Partner with fellow agency leaders to develop omni-channel solutions to client/prospect marketing problems
Anticipate the future of the industry through both research and personal insight, and bring the company to the forefront of that trajectory
Monitor creative budget, including staffing, training, tools, etc.
Actively participate in new business pitches, and represent our creative capabilities
Enhance the agency's creative reputation among clients and the industry through community leadership/networking, awards shows, thought leadership, etc.

Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of the advertising, and content, digital and direct marketing strategies and tactics
15+ years of agency, direct marketing and branding experience, including 10+ years managing high-performance creative teams
Experience developing and presenting successful new business pitches
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to solve problems and to think strategically
Passion for powerful, effective creative, with an eye for good writing and design
Experience in both digital and traditional channels, including development and production
Excellent presentation, people management and project management skills
